Resistance welding copper laminated flexible shunts

Copper laminated flexible shunts are made up of stacked foils of electrolytic copper. The brazing process of the flexible shunts consist of applying high current under high pressure. Our custom designed resistance welding machines with custom made pneumatic brazing clamps are perfectly suitable for the flexible shunts welding process. The process differs from conventional brazing as brazing consumables are not utilized and copper foils diffusion is achieved by the metal itself melting and forming a throughly homogenous bond throughout the brazing area. The cross section is constant throughout the whole length of the brazing area. Therefore, the current carrying capacity of solid busbars is equal to the copper laminated flexible shunts, making it a substitute to solid busbars.
